Meet the 2012 Ultimate Biker Makeover Winner Marilyn Elmore Bragg

Marilyn has been down on her luck after she decided to stop working to be a full time caretaker for her mother. It’s been tough for her to make ends meet and has been riding her 1993 XL 1200 since 2004. With over 193,000 miles on the bike she finds herself “making due” with the simplest of things to keep the bike on the road. New riding gear is way far down on her list of necessities. She was hoping this contest could help her obtain some parts and gear she is in dire need of to stay on the road, which she attributes to the only thing that gives her a sense of enjoyment these days.
Marilyn will be getting hooked up with…new riding Jacket and Gloves from Hot Leathers, a wardrobe of shoes from HD Footwear boots, a cleaning kit from Wizards Products, a case of Synthetic oil from Spectro Oils, and a technology case from Otterbox, a set of AVON Tires, a Mustang Motorcycle seat, a set of shocks from Progressive suspension, and exhaust wrap along with other goodies from DEI.
Thank you to all who submitted their stories and stay tuned for more contests from garage-girls for chances to win great prizes.

Primo!

Primo has come a long way since he was rescued and brought to Animal Friends. Finally, he receives in the gentle, encouraging touch of our volunteers…which is a far cry from life in the basement he was rescued from.
Right now the only thing that motivates this frightened dog is food. He loves his Kibble. But with some coaxing and training, you’ll be rewarded for giving this little guy a new life. He deserves it after all he’s been through.
We’d like to see him move into to a quiet, adult home with a “safe haven” (a crate) for when he gets frightened, which happens a lot. You’ll need to be patient during house training, and aware that he may have ongoing medical needs and may never play like other dogs.
You hear about people who buy homes that are considered “fixer-uppers.” This way the new owners have a creative project to pour their love and personality into. Well, Primo is a fixer upper, one with a sweet grin and cute little ears.
If you choose to adopt this special dog, you will watch him learn about living in a real home with a loving family.
You know you at least want to come visit him today at Animal Friends in Pittsburgh.

Tyson

Tyson may need to enroll in some of the classes that we offer at Animal Friends University. A natural people-pleaser, Tyson is eager to learn what you want him to and would love the time spent with you; his new lifetime companion.

It is recommended that Tyson be adopted by an active family with older children who has dog ownership experience.

If you are looking for a loyal exercise partner who has a big heart and plenty of love to go around, stop by and meet Tyson soon. Oh did we mention he is house trained?  Stop by and meet him at Animal Friends in Pittsburgh today.
