Got Soap Scum?

Hey, so we all have to deal with soap scum, it’s gross but unless your paying a cleaning crew to come into your house and deal with it for you your going to have to eventually face it.  We found a bathroom that  was in dire need of a good scrubbing down and  headed into the Garage to find some cleaning products to help us tackle the job. We had heard that Wizards Crud Release kicked Ass on household tasks so we wanted to give it a run on the this bathroom full of soap scum.  All we did was spray it on, let it site for about 2 minutes and rinsed it off. Take a look at the results…..  Yup, we’d have to say that it kicks ass. We haven’t found another cleaning product that you can spray on and wash off with this type of result….  Don’t forget this product can be used on the stuff in your Garage and your home!

Rare Solar Storm Tonight, Wednesday August 4th 2010

We have all heard of the Northern Lights, but hardly any of us have been lucky enough to see it in person. Well according to NASA Tuesday evening and tonight Wednesday August 4th 2010 you can catch a glimpse of a rare solar storm that will mimic a showing similar to that of the Northern Lights. The storm is expected to produce “rippling dancing curtains of green and red light” across the sky
On Sunday, NASA reported that satellites detected that a portion of the sun had erupted and dispatched a C-3 solar flare, which spawned a solar tsunami that’s headed for Earth. Once it reaches Earth, the charged particles will likely create northern lights-like displays.
But the light show will be visible only in the northern part of the U.S. and other countries. According to NASA, this type of eruption is one of the first signs that the sun is waking up and heading toward another solar maximum, which is expected in 2013.
The last solar maximum was in 2001.

Heels with Attitude

Looking for a pair of heels that don’t look like all the others?  Then you gotta Check out the Hayley from harley-Davidson Footwear. This heel has Attitude! The best part is, the Attitude won’t cost you when it comes to comfort. We were totally surprised at how comfortable this heel is. The shoe is made of a soft material so the cool buckle sportin’ ankle strap is not digging into your leg like we were thinking it would. We really like that!  We were also surprised at how much support this shoe gives and left us feeling stable and solid, not flimsy and wobbly like some other heels.   We love the cool metal stud accents, and of course the side buckle strap!

Bad Mascara? What works best for you?

Ok ladies, this topic has come up way to often for us not to take note. So many girls complain about bad mascara, ending up with clumpy looking “tarantula” eyes. So we want to hear from you, which mascara works best for you and which ones have you learned to steer away from. We included a refresher on some basic health tips for using mascara, but please respond with what brand mascara you seem to be having the best luck with.
1. Apply mascara only to the tips of your lashes. If you get it too close to the root, you could block glands on the eyelids that help form tears, and your eyes might not get the lubrication they need. That condition, called dry eye, can be painful or diminish your vision.
2. Don’t share mascara. The membrane around the eye can harbor bacteria that can easily latch on to a mascara brush. If you come in contact with another person’s germs, you could wind up with conjunctivitis or other infections.
3. Don’t add liquids to mascara. Tap water, which some people use to thin mascara, isn’t sterile and can allow potentially harmful bugs into the tube. Saliva is also full of bacteria and should not be used to moisten mascara.
4. Avoid lash-extending mascaras if you wear contacts. The microfibers can become trapped beneath your lens and scratch the cornea, increasing the risk of infection.
5. Never apply mascara in a moving vehicle. If the vehicle suddenly stops or jerks, you could injure yourself with the mascara brush.
6. Don’t store mascara at temperatures above 85° F (29° C) or leave it in your car for long periods, since the heat may encourage bacterial growth.
7. Throw out mascara every three months; by then bacteria will probably be growing in it. Throw it out sooner if it’s discolored, begins to smell, or if you’ve recently had an eye infection, all of which could signal contamination.

Hot-weather exercise: How to keep cool

Exercising in hot weather puts extra stress on your heart and lungs. Both the exercise itself and the air temperature increase your body temperature. To dissipate heat, more blood circulates through your skin. This leaves less blood for your muscles, which increases your heart rate. If the humidity is high, your body faces added stress because sweat doesn’t readily evaporate from your skin — which only pushes your body temperature higher.
Take it slow. If you’re used to exercising indoors or in cooler weather, take it easy at first. As your body adapts to the heat, gradually increase the length and intensity of your workouts. If you have a chronic medical condition or take medication, ask your doctor if you need to take additional precautions.
Drink plenty of fluids. Your body’s ability to sweat and cool down depends on adequate rehydration. Drink plenty of water while you’re working out — even if you don’t feel thirsty. If you’re planning to exercise intensely or for longer than one hour, consider sports drinks instead. These drinks can replace the sodium, chloride and potassium you lose through sweating. Avoid drinks that contain caffeine or alcohol, which actually promote fluid loss.
Dress appropriately. Lightweight, loosefitting clothing promotes sweat evaporation and cooling by letting more air pass over your body. Avoid dark colors, which can absorb the heat. A light-colored hat can limit your exposure to the sun.
Avoid midday sun. Exercise in the morning or evening — when it’s likely to be cooler outdoors — rather than the middle of the day. If possible, exercise in the shade or in a pool.
Wear sunscreen. A sunburn decreases your body’s ability to cool itself.
Have a backup plan. If you’re concerned about the heat or humidity, stay indoors. Work out at the gym, walk laps inside the mall or climb stairs inside an air-conditioned building.
Know when to call it quits
During hot-weather exercise, be on the lookout for heat-related illness. Signs and symptoms may include:
Weakness
Headache
Dizziness
Muscle cramps
Nausea or vomiting
Rapid heartbeat
If you suspect a heat-related illness, stop exercising and get out of the heat. Drink water, and wet and fan your skin. If you don’t feel better within 60 minutes, contact your doctor. If you develop a fever higher than 102 F (38.9 C) or become faint or confused, seek immediate medical help.
Regular physical activity is important — but don’t let hot-weather workouts put your health at risk.

David Uhl’s 2010 Sturgis Commemorative Piece

titled “70 & Counting” .  Since 2005, David has produced a special piece for the Sturgis rally each year.  These previous editions were open through the last day of the rally, when we totalled up the orders and closed the edition.
With the excitement surrounding the 70th anniversary, David is capping the number of available prints this year.  He’s also including a special paper version (also signed and numbered) which will be only be available unframed.
In 1936, Clarence “Pappy” Hoel started an Indian dealership in Sturgis and formed the Jackpine Gypsies Motorcycle Club.  Two years later, the City of Sturgis joined forces with the Jackpine Gypsies to hold the first “rally” (known as the Black Hills Classic) which was highlighted by the championship half-mile race.  David’s subject in “70 & Counting”, a member of a motorcycle club at the time, is on her way to the inaugural festivities when she stops near Devil’s Tower to get her bearings.  We can only imagine that her new cowboy friend wishes she would stay longer!

New Trailer for “Living the American Nightmare”

Sara wrote about this film in the August issue of Cycle Source Magazine, (on newsstands now)

This “ROCK”umentary by Pawl Bazile  takes you on a hell ride into the lives of well known  musicians, who struggle in the underground music industry. These guys have sacrificed immeasurably for their art only to end up as starving artists. The irony is, these bands, these musicians are world known, you can buy their music at any mall or online store and yet they are struggling to keep their art alive.  Working 40-hour blue-collar jobs, to keep a steady income because playing out and performing is actually putting them further into financial hardships. This film is going to be epic.  Look them up on Facebook and stay informed of when the film will be released.
