Easy step to Maintain your bike, Use a good Fuel, Shell V-Power
By, Sara Liberte

One of the easiest things you can do to maintain your bike is to use a good fuel. Nowadays with fuel costs rising there are more and more filling stations offering cheaper fuel. A cheaper fuel often times has a lower level of detergent present. Using this type of fuel can to lead to a build up on the engine valves. The Intake and exhaust valves are responsible for letting air in and out of your engine. Build up can consist of old fuel, oil residue, piston material due to low octane detonation, meaning the fuel will fire/burn before the plug. Maintaining our own bikes is really part of being a motorcyclist, while there may be some of us not yet ready to take on some of the dirtier jobs in maintaining our bikes, using a premium fuel is the easiest thing you can do to maintain your bike.
Shell V-Power fuel contains 5 times more detergents than government standards, this detergent works as a lubricant to help pass the build up waste through the exhaust. A Valve with build up creates an uneven surface, this uneven surface makes it more difficult for the air to travel over the valve smoothly, leading to poor air movement. A smooth surface for air to pass over is critical to how your bike runs. The ability to move air in and out of your engine quickly is directly related to the performance of your engine. If you have heard about performance head work, that is exactly what it is all about, creating a smooth flowing surface for the air to travel over, you don’t want anything creating a disruption in that air flow. By using Shell V-Power premium fuel for your premium ride your one step a head of the game in maintaining your own bike!
